Big Canada Day Yard Sale at the Farm Market

The Town of Woodstock has asked the Farm and Craft Market to organize a community Yard Sale on Saturday July 1st to help celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. This Market event is open everyone with flea market and yard sale items, ready to eat foods, produce, and crafts. All are welcome.

The Yard Sale Market will be set up on the parking lot in front of the Farm Market building on King Street. The rental fee is $10. Vendors need to bring their own tables and display arrangements.

To reserve a space contact either Laurie McLellan at laurie.mclellan.1948@gmail.com phone 328-2029 (home), 328-5861(mobile) or Sarah Sherman at goldenunicornfarmnb@gmail.com phone 894-2420.

Downtown Woodstock will be bustling with activity on Canada Day. The Woodstock Farm and Craft Market will be open and the Market Café will be serving up it’s famous strawberry shortcake. The day will end with the usual boat parade up the St. John and into the Meduxnekeag and with the traditional fireworks.

If you enjoy doing yard sales as either a vendor or a customer this big Canada Day event will be just thing for a little extra boost. It will be good place for both selling and buying all kinds of items, getting something to eat, and meeting friends and neighbours. You can take a walk along the river and relax on the Market deck under the new pergola.

Early Produce

The first of the new season’s early greens are now coming into the Market on Friday. Strawberries are in full blossom and it looks like the crop will be a good one. Watch for the Market’s annual strawberry shortcake day coming up.

The weather during planting season has been ideal and we’ve had enough rain to keep the soil moist. The germination I have seen so far looks good. If we get some good warm days, the plantings will really jump ahead and we can look forward to a bountiful harvest.

New produce generally comes into the Market on Friday but the Market is open six days a week. You can always call 325-1816 to find out what’s currently available. It also pays to check out the Farm Market website at www.woodstockfarmmarket.ca and the Market Facebook page as well.
